Memory upgrade for M2A74-AM.

Hi guys! I want to update my 5 year old M2A74-AM rust bucket having 1GB transcend ram(1G DDR2 667 DIMM 5-5-5) and AMD Athlon II X2 processor with 2GB transcend ram (Transcend DDR2 2 GB PC RAM (JM800QLU-2G) ).

I'm not too good at computers. My question is is this ram compatible with the mother board and will it be able to work simultaneously with the old 1GB ram.

Please let me know if you have any suggestion on better memory upgrades.

In which case, you should just get a 4GB kit of 2x2GB sticks, if you really want to get some more performance:
