high end 1440p or 1080p?

hello all, i am in the market for buying new gfx card as well as a new monitor for higher resolution gaming. I began to look at the cheaper korean-made 1440p monitors and they didnt have very high contrast ratios and had very bad response times. basically i want to know should i buy a highend 1080p monitor or a korean made 1440p monitor.

+1 to above. If you are going for a massively powerful R9 290X and GTX780 sort of graphics card, THEN go 1440p, otherwise, its just not worth it.

Any sort of limited budget, stick to what is mainstream monitor and BETTER than mainstream GPU so that you do not need to upgrade every few months.

well it depends on the gfx card. if its really strong then get the higher res rather then lower. but if you combine the 1080p and good gfx card then you get higher frames. but i would recommend the 1080p
