To start this off i use a Dell Xps 15 with Nvidea gt 640m
when i first bought this computer i had the same problem, the resolution did not seem right, i tried varios thing ( which i don't remember very well at this day) but eventually the resolution got perfect after reinstaling windows.
now when i updated to windows 8.1 the same problem occured again and i don't know how to fix it (prefer not to reinstall again)
However i have located the problem seeing in intel HD graphics 4000 and windows and Nvidea all says i run on 1920*1080
but when i try to watch my resolution using a external program i get that my screen is running on 1536 x 864 using both http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/ and cmd client named Qres
anyone have any idea how to fix this resolution problem?
