Would I be able to use the XBOX 360 controller with these PC games on my gaming rig?

Battlefield 3
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Crysis 3: Hunter Edition
James Bond 007: Nightfire
Gran Theft Auto 4

Any help would be much appreciated

Yes. All of those should support controller input, HOWEVER I do suggest using m + kb. Using a controller for aiming in games such as call of duty and battlefield will put you at a SIGNIFICANT disadvantage. The controller will be great for GTA, and air vehicles in BF3. For instance, I also use an xbox controller, but I use it almost exclusively for flying jets in BF3. Other than that, I find that mouse and keyboard offers much more precision and control.

Yes, you should be to use an Xbox 360 controller with all of those games. The only thing to note is, if you have a wireless Xbox 360 controller that's not already designed for cross-compatibility with Windows and the Xbox 360, you'll need to buy a wireless receiver so your PC can detect the controller. They're pretty cheap:

If your controller is wired, you'll be able to play just fine without a receiver, iirc.

+1

I'm a force to be reckoned with using my controller for jets in BF3. It only took me an hour to get rocket pods for my jets when I started using my controller (I had prior experience playing BF3 on console).

....but I feel like I'm a pilot with a bout of severe epilepsy when I try to use the mouse and keyboard to fly.

Great, many thanks for your help!
I will be using M & KB most of the time, but im getting a controller so I down have to sit at my computer desk when I game, I like to be comfy :)
I have a wireless controller, mouse and keyboard (Microsoft 5000) so I can game in comfort sometimes, but so much easier to lie there with the controller and game :)

Also many thanks for Deus Gladiorum... I will be using a wireless controller, but luckily the website im buying it from, sells the controller with the receiver :)
