Guys, I am having trouble installing a usata ssd on my pc. It works perfectly on demo pc at work. any tips i can check since it does not show in my bios or in the partition manager. I have tried unplugging all other hdd's to no avail...

Solution
micro-sata SSD's are typically setup as a caching drive. This requires that the sata controller be in raid mode and renders it invisible to the regular bios.
You should be able to see it in the raid bios or intel RST thru windows
The intel raid bios is often entered by pressing ctrl+i when prompted during the pc's boot up from being powered off.

This drive was used as a system drive. it currently has a win8 install on there. i think it may be a bios issue but i dont know where to start changing settings. ive changed the sata controller from id to ahci and raid and had the same result.
