Do I need to install drivers for custom pc?

Hi, I have never built a pc before.
Do I need to install drivers for motherboard, graphics card etc or do they just..you know... work once you install the operating system?

You usually get all the drivers with the components on the cd in the packaging. if its not on there just download them off the net. yes most components will run without any drivers on most OS but they wont perform as good as with the latest drivers. hope this helps
