CPU won't overclock

Hi.
I have a problem.. I have a Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R as mobo, and a E7500 as CPU. 8GB DDR3 1333.
I used to OC it, until 3.5 using stock cooler. But 2 days ago, it's not overclocking anymore. I set up Host Frequency in BIOS, save and exit, but when it reboot it shows 2.97 no matter what... Am i doing something wrong?

If the overclock fails motherboards usually set back to auto settings in order to be able to boot again. So I would think that maybe you need to redo your overclock and that it really wasn't stable when you originally did it. Make sure to stability test your settings.
