So, I am trying to get an old friend on the DotA 2 bandwagon to play with me. I have this really old computer that I just found a 160 Gigabyte hard drive to finish the build. It's going to run Ubuntu 13.10 (right now it's Mint 14), and I am wondering if I could put in a 6670 to make it run better. Thing is, the build is just some recycled HP parts.

Processor: Pentium 4 3.0GHz
Memory: 1 GB

Would it work? I chose this card because I think I could eventually get this to go with A-10 6800K. Thank-you, awesome Tom's community!

it depends, that PC is quite old, honestly if you tell him to (or you) can scrounge up 100 dollars, you can build a decent lga775 platform pc (and grab this gpu instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131496). Do you know what socket that p4 is?

Speccy lists it as i915P/i915G. The Motherboard make is ASUSTeK Computer INC. Goldfish3 (CPU 1). The Graphics adapter is a "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter"-not very helpful, but the model number is 8086-2582. Thanks for a helpful response-that card looks pretty decent.
