hi guys,

i jus wanna hear your thoughts regarding my tentative gaming rig, here are the parts:

motherboard MSI Z87M-G43
Processor Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40-3.80GHz (4Core) Haswell Processor lga1150
CPU cooler Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler
RAM Gskill Ripjaws X 8GB 4gbx2 DDR3 1866 CL8 (F3-14900CL8D-8GBXM)
Video Card Sapphire R9-280X Dual-X OC 3GB GDDR5 384bit
SSD Hdd ssd OCZ Agility 4 128gb sata3 AGT4 25SAT3 128G
HDD Seagate 500GB ST500DM002 Internal HDD
Power Supply Corsair CX750 80+ Bronze 750 Watt ATX, EPS12V, PS/2
Casing NZXT Source 210 Classic Midtower

i wanna know if:
-these parts compatible with each other?
-will the noctua, ram and vid card co-exist in the mobo (if there will be space issues)
-is the psu an overkill or should i use a Cooler Master Thunder M 620W 620watt PSU

any advice would be much appreciated... thanks

I guess what I am getting at is what can I expect the real-world performance difference to be between the cards mentioned above and these that are a bit cheaper

Just trying to decide if the extra $50
Is worth it. I don't mind spending money I just want to make sure the extra cost is going to make a significant difference gaming at 1080p on the highest settings for new games like Titanfall, crysis, battlefields, etc...

Don't mean to hijack your post...

Well, the sapphire toxic edition is the fastest r9 280x I've seen, it overclocks really well, the only problem is the power consumption is extremely high, so you might want to check your PSU before doing the build. Overall I personally am not sure whether to recommend that GPU.

Don't mean to hijack your post lancer, hopefully since we have virtually the same build that this is useful info

thanks for the response sirs however, im on a really tight budget here so i based my ssd choice on price and performance against other competitors. the ocz agility would be my preferred choice

as for the psu, so i should go with the cooler master thunder M then (it is also haswell compatible)

Get 16gb ram 1600 - like corsair vengeance. intel can only handle 1600 anyway..the increase to 1866 is minimal and 1600 is absolutely fine.

EDIT = I see you had 8GB of ram. When testing just ONE r9 280x on BF4 they needed to up their ram to 16GB. http://
I would go ahead and spend the extra $60 or so to have 16GB ram. And again 1600 is fine.

I would recommend a different PSU if you're running one GPU. Try XFX 550w Core edition. It's cheap, and is very good quality too.

If you're only gaming, 16gb RAM is pointless, most games now use 2GB. Go with 8gb RAM, also I think 1866 mhz is compatible with intel as well

from my earlier build i made some revisions and this is what i came up with:

Gigabyte GA-Z87M-D3H
Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40-3.80GHz
Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler
Gskill Ripjaws X 8GB 4gbx2 DDR3 1866 CL8
Sapphire R9-280X Dual-X OC 3GB GDDR5 384bit
Hdd ssd OCZ Agility 4 128gb sata3 AGT4 25SAT3 128G
Seagate 500GB ST500DM002 Internal HDD
Cooler Master Thunder M 620W 620watt PSU
NZXT Source 210 Classic Midtower

-i changed my mobo fri MSI to Gigabyte since it has more recommendations (and cheaper as well
-also changed the PSU to cooler master 620 w since i dont plan on SLI or crossfire
-any suggestion of a much cheaper CPU cooler that can withstand a 4.2 overclock?
-and once again... do all of this parts will co-exist in the board? (no space issues/slot blockages or whatsoever)

Cooler master hyper 212 evo is a good CPU cooler and is less powerful than the one you chose however it offers good power for a small amount of cash.
