Worth it to do a clean install of windows 8 upgrade from windows 7 ultimate?

The installation of my Windows 7 ultimate is only like around 2 months old. I don't know if it's worth the effort to get a usb stick, put the windows 8 upgrade on it, format the hd completely, and do a clean install. Or should I just go ahead and upgrade windows 7 to windows 8?

Any recommendations?

Clean install is always best since you need to uninstall any software that is not compatible with Windows 8.

Unless you have something important installed, I say go for clean install.

No bro. Win7 ultimate is way too stable compared to win8.

But well anyway if you want to do it, I suggest the upgrade path and not to do a clean install. Windows can manage the apps you have and just copy them over from your win7 to win8, move your registry entries, install path, etc.

@USAFRet: Hi bro, I've seen a lot of complains about gaming, not the crash. hehe Is it very stable in games? I see a lot of people saying that it isn't optimized for games yet, there are a lot of frame stutter, etc.. Sorry if this wasn't true because I'm on win7, I'm just basing on what people said on the forums.... :)

I'm not a heavy gamer, but I've had no such issues. And many people in here are reporting slightly better performance with Win8.
