Hey everyone this was my first build, I have a diabolotek case which came with 4 fans with molex power connectors. I have an Asus F2-A85-V PRO mb which has support for 4 more fans. The fan connectors are 4 pin male's. The only convertor I Found was molex to 3 pin female connectors. I would love to be able to monitor all my fans through the asus ai suite 2..Am I screwed or can I use the molex to 3pin female connectors or does anyone know if they make one with a 4pin female connector? Thanks guys

Solution
You can connect 3 pin to 4 pin connectors that are on the motherboard, the extra pin is to control fan speed, if it's just 3 pins it will run at 100% constantly. However you can monitor them as you want to.

I guess that 4th pin is also what lets you monitor it... I used the 3 pin fan connectors and the fans are running its just my ai2 software doesnt see them... Sucks that there isnt a 4 pin female connector with molex

If you have it plugged into a 4/3pin on the motherboard, you should be able to monitor it fine. try a different software, although it really shouldn't matter if you're running with 3 pins because you can adjust them, they're always at 100%.

the connection on the motherboard is 4 pin male ..but the converter is only 3 pins...I was assuming the 4th pin allows me to monitor it...I am using the ai2 software that came on the motherboard....and the only one it sees is the cpu fan because that had a 4pin female connector
