My goal is to play all games released in 2014-15 on ultra, and on a 46" 1080p LED. I'd like to stay around 600, and am willing to buy second hand from someplace. Budget is $400-600-650. I am in the states.

Would SLI/CF be a cheaper but better option, or should I go with one solid card?

Also, I would like to know when is a good time to invest in a card? I'm hoping black friday has some good deals. I just missed the 7990 for $600 on newegg this month.

I am building a computer mainly for a little Battlefield 4, H Hour: Worlds Elite, Star Citizen, The Division, Everquest Next, and Battlefront 3.

My build will likely include:
i7 4770k
MSI GD65 or MSI M Power
1866mhz Ram
OCZ 480gb Revodrive 3 PCI-e 2.0 4x (on sale for 269.99 at newegg BTW)
750 power & cooler PSU (5 Years Old)
Windows 8.1

Thanks very much.:bounce:

r9 290x but wait till the brands introtuce the card with their cooling system with 2-3 fans, it is getting too hot. Current Price is $600 and let`s se how nvidia will react to the card. You are lucky that you missed the 7990 for $600. This card is way better but the temperature is too much with the 1 fan refference card.

gtx 690/7990 get like 95 fps on battlefield 4 beta. Does the r9 290x?. + don't mean to be rude but you tried to answer 1/3 of all my questions. I'd appreciate more answers than just, "pick this card", with absolutely no info backing your reasoning.

Also, is it worth it to build a PC now when PS4 is coming out. 80% of the games I want to play are Multiplatform. Should I save the 1300 I was thinking of spending, and get the PS4 I pre-ordered instead.

PC will almost always be superior to consoles, the only really reason to get a console is for the controller, and the ease of use. Plus single platform games.
If you care about performance get PC, if money is tight and it needs to work for years, console will be better.
