You are probably best going and trying some keyboards out first and seeing what type you like. I have Cherry MX browns at home for gaming and Cherry MX blues at work for typing.

Yeah i agree with above. If you live near a computer store, then i would suggest going there and ask to have a look at and try their mechanical keyboards, because mechanical switches are completely up to personal preference.

You might want to check out CM Storm QuickFire Rapid - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX BROWN Switches it should be under $100

should i get the razer blackwidow tournament edition or the cm storm quickfire tk ?

i like all types of switches i used to have cherry mx blacks but they are broken so im using this rubberdome shitty thing and i want to get mechanical for games and for general usage....

the blackwidow is the cheapest at my local store but the cm storm has backlighting,, not sure if its worth the extra money for backlighting and ive heard people complaining about razer keyboard

The Razer Blackwidow is one of the noisiest keyboards around. If you want a quieter and cheaper keyboard, I'd go with a Cooler Master Storm, either the Quickfire Rapid or Quickfire TK.
