So I just got this card from the store and I installed it correctly including the drivers. I have the latest 13.11 beta drivers. Everytime I exit a game of Battlefield 3 multiplayer the screen goes black and the computer becomes unresponsive. Any help?

GREAT... It seems like EVERY bleepin' card & PC/Laptop I buy from Best Buy is Defective....
I thought it was just me, until I found like 20+ websites complaining about Windows 8 & MOST AMD graphics cards.
AND Microsoft's New UEFI Interface seems to be part of the problem from most forms I read.

Just go to:

With Athlon II x2 250 (3 MHz) you are at minimum CPU requirements for the game, also, there can be some kind of bottleneck with your new video card, video card alone would not make you a winner! This can cause freezing as well. You have more than enough of RAM, I have only 8 GB, and never utilized more than 5 GB.

Minimum requirements for Battlefield 3

* OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
* Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or Althon X2 2.7 GHz
* RAM: 2GB
* Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card, ATI Radeon 3870 or higher, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher.
* Graphics card memory: 512 MB
* Sound card: DirectX compatibl sound card
* Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

Recommended system requirements for Battlefield 3

* OS: Windows 7 64-bit
* Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
* RAM: 4GB
* Graphics card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950.
* Graphics card memory: 1 GB
* Sound card: DirectX compatibl sound card
* Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

I hope it helps.

My computer screen goes black when I'm not doing anything, if I turn it off the moniter shines black and the tower won't turn off but it won't show anything other than a black screen. Also the freezing because of the CPU doesn't make sense because I never had that problem on BF3 with two other video cards.

I had same issue with my MSI card

its the drivers. It took me 4 hours of bsoding and restarts to make it stable. not sure exactly how.

might be installing only the driver (without drag and drop , codecs and such)

ALso I am currently running MSI's drivers which I think are based on Beta3

But yes, Beta7 had serious problems with 260x

I've got the same problem, too (amongst others)! (Sapphire Radeon r7 260x)
When the screen turns black after closing a game, the system doesn't freeze though. I figured you can "fix" this, without having to reboot: I've got my computer screen connected to the DVI port and a hi-fi system connected to the HDMI port. So when the screen turns black, I turn on the hi-fi and the graphics card somehow displays a correct image. (should work with any second screen or hdmi device...)

Other problems I've encountered with my r7 260x:
- System crashes when music is played via HDMI (sound via HDMI works perfectly when in-game though)
- sound crackling
- horizontal lines flickering on screen
- memory clock stuck at 150mhz (thus, horrible lag in-game)
- "display driver stopped responding" error messages

I've read several threads about r7 260x problems, where people were complaining about some or all of these problems, too. Seems like it is actually a driver problem.

Did you receive a new r7 260x already? Are the problems gone?

I messed with it again.

This time it was worse. no drivers worked for me, until I reset bios (reset the block - overclock)

after that again, the new betas wre unusable, and the MSI drivers were good

I'm Experiencing it too on my GIGABYTE R7 260x OC, it freezes the image and turn the screen black, sometimes i see lines apearing on the screen! i guess it's the driver. i've experienced once this kind of issues on other graphics card i had and all the problems were solutioned with a hotfix releades by ATI... let's wait a little more!!

Also got this problems with my gigabyte 260x.
already installed a fresh system , but drivers stop working,
however browsing and streaming videos works well with Windows 8 basic driver.
Alternate.de told me that my card is okay and has passed their tests

Edit: Found the Asus 13.10 WHQL working for browsing and playing league. Bf4 still crashes into blackscreen.

can you guys try the MSI drivers?

ok, I learned that its ok for clocks to go from min to max, not like core. - useing AB to underclock for non3d use.

2nd, i learned that my bsods were caused by the BCLK overclock i had

3rd, got a bios update from my manufacturer. can't say i notice much change, but it does seem to keep lower clocks
