Low FPS on BF3 with a 7970 GHZ edition

hey everybody, I have a problem I am running BF3 on my GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7970 GHZ edition between 45-55 FPS on ultra, that is a bit lower than expected but the wierd part is that even if I turn it down to LOW it still remains unchanged in FPS or GPU usage (Which is around 50-60%)
Specs:
Intel i5 3570k at stock clock
HDD: WD caviar black 2 Tb
Thermaltake 850w PSU
GB Radeon HD 7970 Ghz edition

I have the latest 13.11 beta driver for AMD and my CPU shouldn't bottleneck it. I have seen people on 1440p resolutions get that FPS while I am playing on 1080p

Best solution

What cooler are you using for the i5 3570k? I'd try to overclock the cpu to 4.0 it looks like you make have some bottleneck at stock cpu clocks. You don't buy a i5 K series and don't overclock, what's the point?

Yeah I tried that, and I could not find out how to do it with my mother board. The only thing I can even find close to it says "OC tuner" which I turn on and it crashes my computer

I did some testing and it seems that my GPU isn't being used enough. On Crysis 3 on everything very high but MSAA I get 60+ frames. BF3 should be easier to run.

Oh and my cooler is an enermax TV cooler or something like that it is an aftermarket so I should be able to overclock.

Check your in game settings thoroughly dude. Also, try playing on low.. if that makes a difference then either your GFX is not good enough, which it definately is , or there is some kind of tweaked setting which is causing low FPS. The problem is quite confusing, given that Crysis 3 is fine

I have tried that, it was the first thing I tried obviously lol. I got NO performance increase. That is the thing that is making me ask for help, is that I get no performance increase from putting my settings to LOW.

Ok so I Overclocked my CPu to 4.2 GHz and that fixed everything.
I don't know if that means it was the CPU bottlenecking, but now it is runnning at WELL above 80 frames on full ultra settings thank you
