Hello all,
I am wondering if i should buy a i5 3570k or a i5 4670k. After doing a quick google search, there seems to be no difference between the two. Which one should I go with? Is the 4670k worth the extra money? Thank you in advance!

Solution
They say the 4670K has about a 10% advantage, countering that the 3570K OCs better and with less heat, so it's sort of a toss, can get a great rig started with the 3570K and the Rock's Z77 Extreme 4 mobo, that's what my IB build is based on, and it's the best ombo I built with the Z77, think I had right at 19 builds on this particualr combo - more on the same mobo w/ the 3770K
Do you already have a motherboard? There's not a big performance difference on the CPU side (if you plan to use a discrete GPU the difference in integrated graphics becomes irrelevant). Of course, the choice of CPU is interdependent with that of MOBO since these chips use different sockets.

Haswell really is only an iterative upgrade over Ivy Bridge, so I think it's best to get the 3570k over the 4670k. If you intend to game, the 3570k is still a great price:performance and you could sink the extra cash you would have saved for better graphics, which is what matters most for gaming.

Just do note that when you go with the 3570k, you would need an LGA 1155 socket, Z77 chipset mobo for it.

At stock, the 4670K is a bit faster, but it costs a bit more too.
When overclocked, to reasonable levels, performance will be similar.
The 4670K seems to be more variable in chip quality.
My take is to go with the more current 4670k and a Z87 based motherboard for a new build.

This I have the ASRock Z77 Pro4, so I think I will go with the 3570k. It will work, right?
