I bought a power supply once from a company I wasn't familiar with. All I had to do was hold it in my hand. It weighed next to nothing. I threw it in the trash without another thought. The idea is that it was lacking in even basic component(s) like proper heatsinks. If they skimped there, what else did they skimp out on.

The PSU is probably the last component of a PC build where there's still a bunch of cheating a**holes out there. I mean, you can't really open them up and take a look because that'll void the warranty. I would always go with a solid PSU recommended/reviewed on a site like Tom's Hardware, and/or recommended by a reputable forum member. Even then, I've had decent brand name PSUs wipe out components. They just aren't...
It should not affect anything since a few years ago that was std and the board fits under it! On the other hand if you value the rest of your components I suggest that you replace that PSU ASAP because there is hardly anything lower in quality or higher in component kill rate.

They just aren't worth the risk. You also have an uphill battle proving the PSU did damage to other components.
