I pick Asus because it has better build quality and its UEFI is awesome. Have always loved their UEFI. ASRock on the other hand has tons more features, but most of which you won't know let alone use. It does have Firewire support though. So that's cool if you use it, but I doubt that.'

the Asrock 990fx extreme 4, is more featured mobo. So it depends on the use you are planning too(you just said you wont OC), so you will lose a lot of features.
Its also a good quality mobo.
If I where you I,d go for the Asrock, I prefer to have weapons( just in case) using it or not. Maybe you will need to OC on the future cause to bottlenecked CPU or something similar.
If not going to OC save some money and go with the Asus m5a97 r2.0 or even the Rock's Extreme 3, both are good mobos, but not quite as geared towards OCing, put the money into good DRAM or a better GPU, ,or even a nice dinner or a few beers
@Tradesman1: The difference in price between the m5a97 and the m5a99x is like $20. I doubt you can buy a dinner and a few beers with that price. Maybe just beer.
