Hello,

I am looking to upgrade my computer toward the end of the year and want to really beef it up.

Here are the parts I've selected so far, anything that isn't listed I already have:

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/1Ti22

my current build:
3570k @ 4.0GHz
Hyper TX3 EVO
8GB G.Skill 1600MHz
GeForce 650 1GB
Cooler Master HAF 912 (I am confident this is my case, I can't be certain, it only seems to have 1 front USB 3.0 slot, would that be right?)

I want to know what cooler is best for the 4770k. I'm looking to OC it to around 4.1 - 4.3GHz with acceptable temps while under load, preferably <85*C (Air cooling is preferred)

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=207_23

There is a link to a very good Australian computer store, with the list of coolers available.

Thanks

I have the Cooler Master V8 GTS cooling my 4770K and the thing is a beast, but it's a little pricey and it's gigantic. Other than that, I would suggest the Cooler Master Hyper 212X or the Noctua NH-d14.

What is your CPU clocked at? What temps are you getting idling / under load...?

What is your psu? Can you list your full specs?
Why are you upgrading?
I hope you're aware that your motherboard is socket LGA 1150 and the i7-4770k uses socket LGA 1155. You'll need a new motherboard to upgrade.

Here's the best aircooler on the market right now: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=207_23&products_id=13232
Just make sure it fits with your RAM, as this thing is huge.

Also, the CM HAF 912 doesn't come with any front panel USB 3.0 ports.

He's picking new parts, the ones listed are from his current build. Look at his partspicker link.

Yes but I'm wondering why he's upgrading. The i5-3570k is still a very strong processor that can be used in his new build if he's just gaming.
Also, if he can list his full specs, we can better assist him in what he can re-use and what he should throw out.

I'm pretty sure the 4770k is LGA1150.

The PcPartPicker link is what I intend on buying, and my current build is in the post.

Looking to start with some video editing, photoshopping, 3D modelling etc

I'm sure I'll need a stronger GPU, CPU etc etc etc

Do you know your motherboard? If it's a Z77 chipset motherboard, then you can grab an i7-3770k and keep your current motherboard and overclock it.
If it's a H77 chipset motherboard, you can just grab an i7-3770 since you can't overclock.

There's no point in upgrading motherboards since there's no huge improvement between socket LGA 1155 and socket LGA 1150.

Right now I have a ASRock Z77M, but that is broken thanks to my poor ability to look at what I'm doing before I try putting a GPU in.

That needs to be replaced, so I figured 'hey why not up to Haswell, and future proof it a bit too?'

I'll keep the 3570k, and make another build later on with that.

Thanks for your help guys!
