im thinking my psu is still in good shape it is probably going on 4yrs old is a coolermaster rewal power (pro) series. 650 watt. not the best brand name but has a 5yr warranty i am running a core i7 920and a radeon 7850 all overclocked mildly.

first lets talk about the symptoms. iv reinstalled windows OS so i know it aint software and all power option where fine the overclock is mild at 3.6 and has'nt changed much over the years and at danm neart stock iot does same. what happens is i'l be playing a game or heavy multitasking with game in backlround, and randomly it just shuts compleatly off like turning a main power switch off it goes off.

i have to push the button to get power back on/reboot and im guessing it's either the cpu iv had it since iot came out CO steping or power supply. i had 7850, in here awhile amnd in fact it handled briefly i crossfireed 2 7850's awhile back but settled for just 1.

Well it 'might' be the power supply, but then it can just as easily be an overheating issue.
Those would be the two most likely culprits.

When is the last time you checked the thermal paste between the CPU and the heatsink ?

The third choice is probably memory, as having a lot of things running at the same time gets more of the memory in use and might cause corruption which leads to the reboot.
