will adding amd hd 7750 GDDR5 with an A-6 5400k CPU on a msi fm2-a55m-e33 work? Or what would be the best choice, keeping in mind I play Arma, and have been running into graphics issues. I'm running 8gb RAM, @ 4gb ddr3 corsair vengeance. I am extremely new to building computers, and this was my first attempt at a budget build. I am now in a position to upgrade this one, and need better gpu performance. My budget is $100. I think my power source is allied AL-C350ATX, MAX 350w. Next year, I will upgrade my cpu, for now I need to improve the graphics for ArmA 3! I really appreciate the help.

Well the 7750 will work if you don't want to upgrade your PSU. However I highly recommend you shell out some money for a new PSU. Your PSU is very low quality, and I can never recommend using it in a build. For $130 probably you can get a new PSU and a radeon 7770, which is a better GPU too.

Thanks for the help...Are you talking about the power source unit? I dont mind that at all, but I heard the 7770 cant run with that processor bc its too powerful? is that true? If I need a new psu, I don't mind spending more, I know I cant afford a new processor for a month or two, so I want a gpu that will help with the current build, with the a-6, and when the time comes, throw on a new cpu, one much better than the a-6. I don't know which yet, but it has to be compatible with the MB im keeping and the GPU I'm upgrading to now. Thanks again for all the help.

Some games will struggle with no matter what GPU you add and some will be fine. I'd say the 7770 is the max I'd go with that CPU. I'd certainly go that route over a 7750. It also leaves upgrades available for the future when you upgrade the PSU.

Okay, that helps alot. I can do $130 to get a new power supply, and the 7770. Would that actually run with the discrete gpu in the a-6, or would the embedded gpu just shut down. Also what power supply do you recommend? Also what kind of cpu ill be getting in a few months do you recommend? I can do about $200 maybe a little more on the cpu in December.

but then bear in mind that you are using a fm2 mobo, so your choices of upgrade is limited to only a10 5800k or 6800k unless you change your mobo (which again add some cost).

Check out this list of parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kirilmatt/saved/2bNP
It has all the parts I would get in your budget. If you can spare a bit more I would get a 2Gb radeon 7850.

To answer the above poster, I added a MB and a new CPU in my parts list, I agree that the upgrade options were limited on FM2. As to your question, those slots are the same.

okay, I see. How would those cpu's handle arma. I have never had any issues with Arma2 on very high settings, and now with Arma3 it keeps crashing, completely randomly and sometimes I can go days without it happening. What is the very best cpu I can get with the mobo I have and a hd7770?

yes. I dont see a power supply. Im confused, I thought you said I could get a power supply unit and a 7770 for around $130? I wanted to know a good power supply, mine is only 350w, I need at least 600W power supply (or greater) with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors for the GPU.

i dont think random, keep crashing is a problem with graphics. it is something else. if you stick with your mobo, then the best cpu you can get is only a10 5800k or 6800k.

I understand thanks. I can spend about $300 on a mobo and cpu I guess in 2 months, maybe a little bit more. I will already have a new power supply and amd 7770 gpu. What do you recommend? I would like to have the best graphics possible, with out spending $500 on only the mobo and CPU you know?

Yeah, I can. I decided to put a MB, an FX-6300, a PSU and a Radeon 7850 instead. The PSU and radeon are only $150. You don't need 600W of power for your rig either, what I included is fine.

Okay, I'm still missing the type of psu? Or does it not matter? And if I dont need 600w, what do I need? Would this be good for crossfire in the future? RAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI? I heard the Thermaltake TR2 TR-700 700W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply Are the best. yay or nay?
