It has been bugging me since I got my new PC. Every game runs on low settings and still lags. On can you run it, a few games say I can run on recommended. Is it that my PC isn't on full performance or something? I'm not very good with computers and need some help.

PC specs:
AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor
CPU speed - 3.6 GHz
8gb ram
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
AMD Radeon HD 6450 2gb

Thanks,
Mike (sorry for being so nooby :D )

you got the wrong gpu. why did you choose that? because it is not a gaming gpu even for medium setting(for most game unless some dated game). you should have gone with at least a hd 7750 or a gtx 650 to pair with your fx 4100. so IMO there is no problem with your hardware or software, it is just that your gpu cant take that load. Hope this solve your problem.

I agree with Lee Yong Quan.

Your gpu is to weak to handle games on medium/ high settings. You should have gone with a 7790 or GTX 650 Ti.

Thanks, finally found the problem I guess. I'll take your advice. I didn't really know what I was doing when I bought this PC which is pre-built. :D

http://www.amazon.co.uk/FX-4100-Gaming-Bulldozer-Graphi... This is pretty much the one I bought, so do I only need a new gpu?

... and that processor only has 2 FPU's doesn't it?

Buy from here instead of Amazon.

Find a good video card and then come back and ask questions.
You can compare video card performance here: http://www.gpuboss.com ; TomsHardware also have charts.

First take the side panel off and se what power supply is installed-we'll need to know exact make and model.
As with the others, I think a HD7790/GTX650Ti would be an excellent upgrade and will be a night and day change for your gaming.
