Is there a way to test a discrete graphics card?

I got a couple boxes full of odd and end computer parts from a friend. I found a couple discrete cards and was curious if there was a way to test them. Would I have to find a laptop that has the slot or do they make an adapter to test a boot up?

Yeah its a laptop video card. Its like slot mxm or something like that. Alienware use to have the slots for their cards. not sure if they still do that or not. The card I am currently looking at its for a Alienware M17-r1. I have the lower parts of the alienware but not sure if the MB works or not.

I have searched a few days looking for what I need but haven't had any luck. When I google mxm to pci express I see plenty of pictures but no place to buy one. If anyone has an idea where I could look that would be helpful. Here is a link to what I am needing.
