I'm a new member, and had trouble deciding where to place this post (and how to too, sorry if it's wrong!) I have a Fujitsu Siemens V2030 laptop that used to run XP Home Edition(32bit). Because security updates will end April 8 2014 I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro(32bit) to extend the machine's useful (secure) life on-line. I purchased a program called "Driver Update" in order to assist the process of sourcing Windows 7 drivers. However, although it installed some sort of basic driver for the integrated graphics, at minimum screen resolution 600x800 the displayed picture is 25% too big and grainy. If I increase resolution the picture balloons 'til only a quarter is visible. In Device Manager it now shows the graphics adapter as "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" whereas in XP it used to be "VIA/S3G Uni-Chrome Pro Integrated". I assume that this is because the driver is not the correct one. The support section of Fujitsu's website does not list any Windows 7 drivers for the Amilo Pro V2030 and this is the reason I bought Driver Update in the first place. Is there anybody who can help point me to the correct windows 7 drivers for this machine please?
The chipset is Bus 0,Device 0,Function 3,_Via CN-700, P4M800CE, P4M800PRO, VN800 chipset-DRAM controller.
Vendor is = Via Technologies Inc.
Video Adapter= Via/S3g Unichrome Pro Integrated
The laptop meets all Windows 7 Pro system requirements specified by Microsoft.
Thanks

Are you saying that if Fujitsu have not created any Windows 7 drivers that none exist? Am I wasting my time in searching? There is mention on this forum that XP drivers may work ok! Should I risk it do you think?

Someone has to create the drivers for it. They don't just magically appear. And for a several year old laptop (2006?), the manufacturer, Fujitsu, may not go through that work.

You could try the XP drivers. May or may not work.

With respect, I am well aware that drivers don't just appear magically! I am not that naïve. The Driver Update program accesses a cloud database owned by Slimware Utilties and does not trawl the Internet, so its search is limited. This is why I have searched myself and drawn a blank, hence my post here requesting expert assistance. Even if Fujitsu have not created the drivers there is still a possibility that someone else may have, or found a solution to the problem.

Great news for me folks! I found a solution on this website. I downloaded the graphics driver for XP (32bit) from Fujitsu's support section and extracted the files to another folder. Then, from the Device Manager I selected "Graphics Adapter" then "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" then r-clicked "Update Driver". I then "Browsed" to point to the decompressed driver files. They installed successfully but after rebooting I needed to "up" the screen resolution to 1024x768, PERFECT.I had tried to install this driver before using the "Setup" file and it had been rejected due to Windows not being XP!
