My old build has 16GB of 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM and my question is, will it be compadible with the 1600Mhz standard until I save up to replace it with 2133Mhz RAM?

The frequency doesn't matter as long as the RAM is DDR3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWgzA2C61z4 This video pretty much says it all. Note that there are some applications that do really benefit from RAM speed. http://www.anandtech.com/show/7364/memory-scaling-on-haswell/3 Upvote 0 Downvote
