Radeon HD 9000 Series

Hey there,

A quick question about the Radeon HD 9000 Series - do these cards use PCI-E 3.0? In that case would my GA-990XA-UD3 motherboard be compatible with these cards?

There is no Radeon HD 9000 series.

As for graphics cards that support PCIe 3.0, they can still be used on motherboards that only support PCIe 2.0 (like that Gigabyte board).

All PCI is backwards compatible, as for the card itself the 9000 series, its the R9/R7 series. The R9 being the performance cards. The R9-290x is the best, followed by the R9-290, then the R9-280x and so on.

PCIe is NOT compatible with PCI. The various revisions of PCIe are compatible with each other.

I meant PCIe. and the R9 use 3.0 which works on 2.0 and even 1.1
