I am building a new computer at around $2000. In benchmarks two R9 280X beats a GTX 780. However, I have heard about some issues in Crossfire. I would rather not use a R9 290X as they are not in stock anywhere. Which of these options is better in gaming and video editing?

Thanks in advance

get the 290x...Newegg will get more in and if you check website/refresh periodically you will get one next week. Just have to be on your guns to get one from newegg. They refresh there stock on the website around 1300 cst so check there on after on Monday. These new 290x are going to even get better and from what I'm been seeing on benchmark scores they are the fastest gpu out beating titan. Plus, amd going to launch mantle soon so this could be a game changer for amd. If I was in your shoes I would just be checking newegg stock starting Monday and get the fastest new card on the block! R9 290X

For a single monitor. I think the R9-290X is enough for now. When you upgrade/add monitor add in another 290X for CF and BOOM you got a beast of a PC :)

I heard the 290X runs hot. Does it run hot enough for heat to be an issue? Anyway does anyone know about the performance of Crossfire R9 280Xs?

Thanks in advance,

THE R9 290X DOES NOT RUN HOT, YOU MUST KNOW NOTHING ABOUT GRAPHICS CARDS. The r9 290x is designed to run at 95 its in the programming. Btw get the r9 280x toxic its the same as a gtx 780 and is $150 cheaper.
