My Laptop freezes up sometimes...

My Acer AS1410 with 2GB Ram memory freezes up sometimes, and I'm forced to reboot. Is it because of the ram memory? If I upgrade to 4GB would that resolve the issue?

  1. Are you running demanding applications? if so that's probably why your having to reboot (2gb is low for these days).
  2. So, I typically have Skype start up automatically and have many tabs open on my browswer (firefox) plus a few MS word files open as well. Sometimes I might have another app open as well. I suppose if I were to upgrade to 4GB ram memory, it would resolve this problem.

    Thanks a lot!

Yeah, i'm guessing all the open tabs and program are bogging down the the ram. 4gb should definitely speeds things up.
  4. Thanks a lot! I think I'm going to upgrade the ram to 4GB and see what happens.
