I always wondered because I see videos of Crysis or Bioshock or whatever in 1080p yet I got Crysis on Steam last week on the sale, i only have a 768 monitor but even on my FHD TV options only list 16x1050 on that game...Bioshock goes up all the way but i was wondering is there a way to change the internal rendering resolution with the "command console"or something...like when i play Halo 1 it only goes to 10x768...I was wondering if i can go higher...or on an already hi-res game that also runs very fast could i do enable even higher AA from messing with the code...Im such a noob i don't know what it's called lol sorry.

There is no point playing at a higher resolution than your monitor .

The graphics driver is only giving you the options supported by the screen

The TV is probably set to scale aspect ratio , or preserve it, or some other setting that prevents the graphics driver detecting and running the correct resolution . Check the TV set up
