Awhile ago I built a new computer and now I'm looking at upgrading it further. I am still rather new to hardware in general so I'm having trouble finding a reliable way to calculate just how big of a PSU I will need. I am looking at adding a second GTX 770 to compliment the existing one in my system.

Currently the factors are:
CPU - i5 4670k (4.4 GHz @ 1.25V)
GPU - Single GTX 770 Asus Direct CU II (1058 MHz, 1111 MHz boost. Second card will have same clock speed and stock voltage)
Fans - 1 120mm Cooler Master CPU fan, 1 140mm Cooler Master case fan, 4 200mm Red LED fans
Additional - X Fi Titanium HD sound card.

Current PSU is an AX750W Corsair.

Now from what I've seen I think I'll need to bump it up to an 850W PSU, but I'd like some additional feedback on that. I also have a lot of cable management done already inside the case so if I do need to upgrade would I be able to just swap out the cables I already have in there with an AX850?

Edit: I also just noticed that the AX850 no longer seems to exist on Newegg, AXi 860W or the AX860 instead compatible with the AX750's modular cables?

You are correct in that 850w is recommended for GTX 770 Sli. I don't know if the AXi 860 or AX 860 would be compatible with the cables you have since they would come with the cables you need. You would have to rewire of course. The AX 860 would be more likely to be compatible since the AX series is made by Seasonic. The AXi series is made by Flextronics. Both are among the best power supplies on the market.

The cables are mostly about convenience for me, I don't want to have to organize and re-tie all my cables again if I can avoid it. I'll do a bit more digging about the cables and, worst case, I'll just swap them out to avoid the risk if I can't find anything definitive. Thanks for confirming I need the 850W.
