Approximate Purchase Date: Either Black Friday or Cyber Monday 2013

Budget Range: ~$400 (after sell of old computer, if that is what's suggested. Read below)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Graphic Designer (Adobe AE, DW, ID, IL, PS), movies/videos, surfing the internet

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: Entire Computer OR RAM + HDD + SDD (2 or 1)

Currently have:
CPU: Stock DX4840 Gateway. 1TB HDD, 8GB DDR-3, Intel HD integrated graphics,

Reusing the following:
Either planning to sell the Gateway computer for a new computer (build yourself or premade) + upgrades (will sell for $250 used). Or upgrade the current gateway desktop

Do you need to buy OS: Not sure?

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, Best Buy, Frys, Tiger Direct, Wal Mart, whichever.

Location: SoCal, Inland Empire

Parts Preferences: I would like to upgrade …
Memory: SSD (2 preferred; one for main OS, and one for scratch disk), and then 1 HDD to have all the big files (music, PSD files, etc)

Overclocking: Not sure?

SLI or Crossfire: Not sure?

Your Monitor Resolution: 1366x768

Additional Comments: I'm basically choosing to either sell my old weak computer for the $250 and upgrade my computer to a total $650 budget (after earning the $250). Or do I just spend $350-$400 for upgrades on old computer.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Photoshop big files are SO slow! Need to do something about it

Please feel free to any additional questions - I'm partial to Intel, as I've had bad experience with AMD. But I'm open to opinions. I am also open to building the computer, or having it delivered already set-up. I don't mind the challenge.

Thank you so much :)

Sell it and buy a new computer.
