I want to know which is better The I5 which is what I'm using now or the 8350 which Im thinking of using in my build. I dont want to know which is better for just gaming I want to know other things as well. I heard that amd has weaker single core strength so will the i5 open up my internet faster (not that it really matters but I think you get the idea). Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You might have BIOS issue for Ivy bridge support on that H61 board http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02980014#N126 No Ivy Bridge CPU's supported.
H61 boards as well will not allow OC on 3770K you would need Z77 board like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131832&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
I am presuming that the HP in question is mini tower max accepting mATX boards.
The 8350 is faster at heavily threaded work like rendering or whatever. Less threaded things, the i5 is faster. The 8350 is overclockable, unlike the i5-2400, but also draws a lot more power (even more so when overclocked).

If you already have an i5-2400 and motherboard, it seems a bit of a waste to buy an FX-8350 and compatible motherboard.

In order to have something at par with an 8350 you'd have to go up to Ivy bridge. An i5 3570k or for $50 more an i7 3770 which would outperform the 8350 in every way. If you're on a budget, there's usually a way to make it work.

Certainly not way better overall. More like a little better, with a very uneven profile of advantages and disadvantages. And definitely not cheaper compared to an already purchased CPU and motherboard.

Upgrading from an i5-2400 to an FX-8350 is very rarely going to be worth it.

Hello.
Keep your i5 2400. It should be faster on 4-threaded or less programs than FX8350 and a little slower on more than 4 threads programs. Not worth the upgrade.
If you want so bad to make an upgrade, 1230v2 and i7 3770K would be the best options since you already have the LGA1155 motherboard. (just upgrade your BIOS before doing it.)

To put it into a sharp perspective. Battlefield 4 is said to be one of the first games to use 8 threads and take full advantage of the 8350

As you can see, your gaming performance will not change at all. It's not an upgrade.
