Hello all, This is my first post for those who may be interested. I know might be taking a swing at the air with this one, but I need some advice on building a gaming computer.

I plan on building a gaming CPU, comparable to one of the higher end models available, but without the cost. My limit if $400, and I plan on squeezing every cent out of my budget. The goal is to hopefully run my games (Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim) at max or at the very least high settings. Any ideas on how to do that on such a tight budget is welcomed.

Running Skyrim on max with $400? Good luck. If you want to play Skyrim at max you will need around $600-$700 and if you want something 'comparable to one of the higher end models available', you will have to pay for it. They cost a lot for a reason.
But I could get you close with this:

P.S. This should be in the systems forum not the CPU forum, and don't call the computer the 'CPU' call it the computer.

Thank you. If you any suggestions that fit that $600-$700 budget range, I'd very much appreciate it. Never hurts to know what spending a bit more might look like. On the CPU, honest mistake, but I'll keep that in mind. ;)

P.S. Also, is there is a way to more this to the appropriate forum in compliance with the rules? Oh, and don't mind the smiley.

It's all good, I don't mind but I know a lot of people do. Also if you are using a monitor that is less than 1920x1080 you could probably pull of max settings.
