Hey Guys I will do my best to provide the best info I can.

The initial problem started yesterday and has continued up til this point.
My computer will freeze and then shut itself down. This has happened once while browsing reddit and once while playing Mass Effect 2. I would assume this to be an overheating issue except that when I try to reboot my computer after its self induced shutdown, some strange things happen.

Sometimes the computer will just freeze in the middle of the boot. For example during the windows 7 loading screen or even on the windows error recovery window. Sometimes I will make it to the log in and I will loose all video. Sometimes I will make it through the log in and it will work fine for a hour or two until it freezes and shuts down. Even after leaving the computer off for hours I get the same results.

I am hoping that someone could tell me what the problem is and/or what tests to run and perhaps help me through this troubleshooting process as I am a little stumped.
I hope the the system info below provides initial information. Please request other test and their results if you need them.

Cheers to all for their help.

It's very common to have a bad Ram module which would cause all of the problems that you have stated. Try removing one module at a time and see if the problem goes away. You could also run a hard disk check by right clicking the C: drive under "computer" or "my computer" then go to properties, and then tools to run a check for corrupted files.

Thanks for the tip I will try that tomorrow.
A little update, it just shutdown on me again with no freeze this time. Also I noticed the fans are staying on at what sounds like max speed. The air from the vents does not feel very hot at all however.

Maybe new thermal paste? I never applied my own as it came stock on processor.

I would run a cpu temp monitor or check the temp in the BIOS. Usually the thermal paste that comes pre-applied works pretty well.

I have tried running the comp with just one stick of ram and the error occurred again ( i did this with both sticks). It is happening quicker now with only about 30-45 min of run time before it shuts off.

I also ran the check on the C drive and everything came back good.

I notice now that the led on my power button blinks now when it shuts down.

Thanks for your help. I think my next step is to redo the thermal paste. I will have to wait until Tuesday at the earliest to try however.
