the holes in the motherboard don't all line up, some of the built in raised standoffs are touching the bottom of the motherboard. I have looked all over to find an answer to this question and so far nothing. The motherboard is ATX and case says it works with ATX motherboards so I`m not sure what the problem is. Just don`t want the board to fry.

If I remember correctly, some of the holes needed standoffs and some didnt. There are raised portions of the motherboard pan that should line up. If it doesnt line up, there isnt much you can do about it. Oh wait. The standoffs that are raised and touch the back of the motherboard dont touch anything that would short you out. The surface area is enough to cover the contact point on the back of the motherboard. If thats the correct way of explaining it. Its like the grounding point. Looks like a circular line of solder.

The solution was to flatten the standoffs you cant use with a hammer . [ or I suppose you could use a drill to cut them out ]
Definitely dont run the computer with them touching the board

For me, the solution would be to send it back and get something that actually works.

If I have to take a hammer to a PC case(!) to make things fit....no thank you.

Thats also a very acceptable option , but sometimes not economically viable .

Did all of the holes line up for you, because for me some of the raised standoffs don't line up with any holes in the motherboard and they touch the bottom of the board. Also would double stacking the other standoffs be a solution?

I have this board. Gigabyte for some crazy reason decided to not follow the ATX standard for mounting hole locations. This leaves the right side of the board unsupported. Makes no sense.
