Hey guys, first time I posted here I think (unless it has been that long I can't remember) I normally always am able to solve everything myself but this one has me stumped.

Read through everything I've found on Toms as I don't just ask what has normally been covered, gone through the SSD optimization guides etc and although it improved the speeds as you'll see it is far from acceptable...

I ran AS SSD and got the following :

So just seeing that I know the test is not suppose to take almost 8 min on the 4k write test.... seek time is shockingly bad, just for comparison (which I think could run faster also but I got information on there and its not running the latest firmware, unlike the Samsung)

And last of all Samsung Magician

So all this was done on a FRESH copy of windows 7 64 bit, just bought the drive yesterday so everything fresh, came with the latest firmware as I said and followed the guide (actually looked at a few to pick up some points others missed) as I said barely made a difference, in the area's it did was already good..... the bad area's didn't made a difference really at all.

Any suggestions would be great but I feel like I may have to take this back and get another..... which means another OS install on another drive and another waste of a whole day downloading updates and everything again.... urg

The thing is I can notice it is extremely slow, I only benchmarked after I noticed it being severely slow even deleting things and disk cleanup takes forever....

You've seen the information about running these on Intel/AMD SATA controllers only, right?

They severely underperform on other controllers like Marvell etc.

What motherboard are you using?

Solved guys, finally fixed it, a windows update I think may have screwed the driver so I reinstalled the latest drivers from the motherboard (MSI) site and all good, very happy :D
