I woke up this morning and turned on my computer and it started beeping. It was giving me 4 beeps that would repeat 10 times then go silent for a bit. I can't find anything online about the 10 times part, but I did find, "4 beeps - Timer not operational - bad motherboard" for UEFI BIOS.

I've had no problems with this motherboard since I first bought it and the only thing that has changed is the time... As in, time changed in Czech Republic last night (which Windows and my BIOS both show correctly) so I'm trying to figure out if there may be something else wrong or if there's anything I can do about this.

I appreciate all the help I can get, but if you're going to ask me for information, please assume that I'm a complete moron and tell me how to get the information you want... I tried to email ASUS through their site but their portal was asking me for all kinds of info I had no clue how to find/get.

Thanks

Just tried that. Unplugged the computer, reset the jumper, waited a minute, put the jumper back in place, plugged the computer back in, went into BIOS and set time and date... Still beeping.

Anything else I can try?

For the record... My computer is not shutting down or anything... Just beeping. I'm actually posting this and researching the problem from the offending machine.

Just finished... Updated BIOS, and found no new chipset updates... Still beeping :(

I remembered a few minutes ago that I had a similar problem with another computer I had a couple of years ago. Turned out to be a RAM issue. I'm going to explore that possibility, just in case. If you have any other suggestions, I'd appreciate them. In the mean time, I'll be checking out my RAM and post back once I have something figured out.

Thanks again...

Exactly what I did... Traded both around in every possible configuration, then tried one at a time in each slot and restarted after each... Still beeping.

I already did that, unfortunately... From what I can judge with the naked eye, all the pins are fine.

I realize this may be an incredibly stupid question, but... Since the computer was working fine until this morning and the only thing that's changed is DST, could there be some issue related to the time change? I have zero clue and I feel rather stupid asking, but I can't find anything else wrong. Especially since nearly post I've checked concerning the 4 beeps has also stated that their computers were constantly rebooting or shutting down. Aside from the beeps, mine is working fine. I have audio and video, internet access, I can go into DDO with no issues (I logged in to see if a techie friend was online) and I just had a skype call with my fiancee...

Well, that was... Anticlimactic lol.

I'm still looking for a solution, so I'd appreciate it if we could leave this open, just in case...

Thanks for the help Tradesman, it's greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure exactly how or why, but the problem seems to be fixed. I appears to have been a problem with my RAM after all, though I have no clue what it was, exactly. I ran MemTest last night before I went to bed and, after I rebooted, there were no more beeps. I decided not to post here until I discovered whether or not it was really resolved. I got up this morning booted up, and I've been running the computer for 6 hours now with no beeps.

Apparently, the process of testing it fixed it, because MemTest showed no problems at all, and my computer was beeping throughout the testing...

Anyway, thanks again for all the help :).
