XFX - Core Edition Radeon HD 7750 2GB DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card

So I was looking into this graphics card because it is cheap, it has a much better chipset, and it has more memory than my GeForce 220 (from 2004 I believe). I noticed though it has DDR3 for the memory. Is that going to put me at a severe disadvantage or would that versus GDDR3 or GDDR5 not be that noticeable. I am only trying to run games on medium here, and I plan on playing Fallout: New Vegas and Battlefield 3 on medium plus newer games on medium to medium-low.

GDDR 5 is allot faster than GDDR 3 so yes, there will be a difference in performance.

Something like this would be a better choice -
  2. So I don't know much about GPU memory, why is it better to have faster memory rather than more memory?
  3. Faster memory transfers data faster through the system - A 1gb gddr5 gpu is better than a slower 2gb gddr3 gpu since it transfers data quicker. Also, more memory is better for higher resolution however, the 1gb gddr5 will outperform the 2gb gddr3 since it's faster.
  4. considering its a 7750, is it even strong enough to utilize the ddr5 over ddr3? i'd be interested to see benchmarks.
  5. well i found benchmarks, go for the ddr5, the 7750 is certainly strong enough to use it.
  6. Okay that sounds good. My CPU won't bottleneck will it? I mean it isn't the best, but it certainly isn't the worst.
  7. Wait are you still getting the 7750? if so don't and get the 7770 I linked for you (way better performance).

And no your cpu will not bottle-neck it. The fx-6300 can handle a 280x.
  8. I'm going with the 7770.

  10. good choice.
  11. Just an update, this graphics card was an awesome choice. It's defiantly giving me my money's worth of performance.
