Hello, and thanks. my question is -'can i use two hdds in raid 0 which is two different company (e.g.- toshiba and WD) ... is it possible??? or do i need the exact same company or same RPM??...

Solution
No, they don't need to be similar at all. Also it's the easiest way to a drive as you don't have to move your C drive operating system or anything. You may need to reinstall some games and put them on D though. I f you haven't purchased a drive yet then I recommend a Western Digital Black drive, they have great performance for a hard drive and a 5 year warranty.

It can be done, but really it might not be reliable. You have two drives with different characteristics and potentially it could be a nightmare. If you want to speed up your system you'd do better buying a single SSD than messing with a RAID 0.

I'm not looking for speed, but just because my 500 GB is full.. all drives are red in my PC .... and if i just Use 1TB.. it would b a problem for me because all my files are important and transfer is my problm...

What do you mean by "and transfer is my problm"?
It appears you just have a space problem. Just get another, larger drive and move some stuff over.

Like USAFRet was saying, you probably just need to add another hard drive as drive "D", no reason to RAID those drives unless there's some particular reason you are needing a huge single partition.

I'd just add another drive. 1 or 2 TB. No RAID involved.
