R9 280x motherboard compatabilty help

Hello so I am going to be upgrading my 2gb Gtx 570 OC to an asus matrix R9 280x for BF4 and theres one thing I need help with.

In the specifications it says "To have the best cooling performance, ASUS MATRIX-R9280X-P-3GD5 extends the fansink to 2.5 slots. Please double check you Chassis and Motherboard dimension prior to purchase to make sure it fits in your system!"

I have no idea what this means to be honest so can someone please help?

My motherboard is a Gigabyte z68x-ud3h-b3

Basically that the cooler on the card is going to hang over 1 and a 1/2 slot space below the slot it is inserted into.
On your board it will render the two PCIe X1 slots under the X16 slot useless.

Okay, so as long as this is the only card in my machine my motherboard should be compatible fully with this card? Correct?
