Are OEM MoBo Processor upgradable?

I have a OEM MoBo that has a 945g chipset+ICH7+1gb ram+Pentium 4 631 ht 3.00ghz will the Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140?The Core 2 Duo require voltage regulator 11.0, how about the Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140?Is Bios really Important?I have an old bios(12/04/2006) but the Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140 was released 6/3/2007 will it work?

Well one thing is certain that you WILL have to update BIOS, since I doubt that whoever made this board is a future seeing magician that added support for stuff that did not come out until year after.

If that version of BIOS includes support for this CPU then you are good.

You need to give following details, before you can get an answer:

1. Motherboard manufacturer and model.
2. Bios version.
3. Bios release date.

We can't give you an answer based on our gut feeling, mate. You would not be happy if you buy that CPU and it end up being useless.

Check who actualy made the MB. You might have to look underneath, and google serial nos. etc.
I had a Intel motherboard at one time which on checking was made by PC Chips, now part of ECS I believe. At that time Intel MB's were supposed to be good, but PC Chips ones not.
I used that information to find drivers and other details.
