Hello, I want to get the most out of my my PC parts, and I bumped into Asus' Maximus VI line of motherboards. I loved the Formula. Performance and looks. But it costs more than the Intel Core i5 4670K. Other people who have the Formula in their build usually have the Intel Core i7 4770K. So as the title says, is the Formula overkill for the 4670K? Is it worth the money? Should I just go with the Hero? Everyone in Tom's Hardware seem to like the Hero...

Parts:
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K
MoBo: ?
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB DDR3-1600
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro Series 120GB
HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM
GPU: Asus MATRIX Radeon R9 280X 3GB
PSU: Corsair AX 760W 80 Plus Platinum

I will be overclocking, and this build will be used mainly for gaming. Thanks!

The Formula series is designed to Overclock.
So if you plan to take the 4670K way up to 5GHz ot more, then it is a great option, if not then you are wasting you money.
You can get one of these very good LGA 1150 Motherboards that get a decent OC and are fully loaded with cool features.

None. In fact, I have all I need with the Asus 787-A. But I chose the Maximus VI series because I want the most out of my motherboard.
