I recently build up my own PC and it didn't quite live up to expectations and after some research I found my GPU was likely the bottleneck. I'm saving for a GTX 780 which I should have in the next few months but I'm looking to squeeze the last dregs out of this little thing while I wait.My specs are in the signature, are there any improvements to be made?:)

With the AMD platform, the only way to go is to increase the core count, but that's not absolutely necessary. If you choose to go that way, the 6300 is a good value, and will help with future AAA titles. Right now, Crysis 3 can use up to eight threads, and BF4 can use 6.

p.s. Nvidia announced its price drops today - the 780 is $500 now. Imho, it's still not worth the money unless you plan to go SLI. It's only $50 cheaper than the 290x, which utterly blows it away.
you're on the money about the 6670. However, you'll need to overclock your 4300 as high as it will go to accommodate a 780 (even then, it may hold the card back a bit). You'll need a good aftermarket cooler for the CPU, if you don't have one already.

An HD 7950 or GTX 670, 760 would be better balanced with the processor at stock clocks.

The 7950 is the cheapest

I have my 4300 at 4.5Ghz right now, will that be sufficient as I cant go any higher without water cooling, I have it cooled with a zalman air cooler atm.

That should do, though I'd still recommend a 7970 with that CPU on the overclock (can be had for $250 new right now)

If your heart's still set on a 780, wait a bout a month for Nvidia's reactionary price drops from the 290x. The 780 will probably drop to $500 or less.
