Will installing Ubuntu 13.10 ruin Windows (BTW I am not a newbie, i am just not sure cuz my pc is new..)

I have a pc:
Asus m51ac
intel haswell i7
10gb ram
2 tb hdd
windows 8.1

i am not that sure about the fast boot or the uefi bis so i am afraid that what i usually do for non-uefi bioses wont work..

The recent Ubuntus are compatible with UEFI, though on some machines you may need to disable SecureBoot.

No it will not mess up you're windows installation. Leaving fast boot enabled will only make it so Linux will not be able to mount your windows partition thus you will not be able to access data on your windows partition unless fat boot is disabled. You can safely leave fatty boot enabled of this is not a concern
