I've built a rig with a
-Core i5 3570k
-Gigabyte Z77X-D3H
-8gb ddr3 1600 crucial dual channel memory

Main purpose of pc is gaming.

Now my question is I have an extra 2gb ddr3 1333 stick lying around, will I benefit or lose anything from adding it to my rig? Because I have no other use for it.

Also I noticed that in cpuz my cpu speed stays at 3803 mhz (No OC) even during idle, only the voltage value that seems to be fluctuating from 0.948 to 1.116 and between those values as well,
Could someone help clear this out or should I create another thread?

Thank you

yes, it's only 1333, the erest of your ram is 1600, it will downgrade it to 1333. in addition, only put 1 slot in will kill dual channel abilities as well. Best to leave it out.

As for the speed thing, not sure, don't run intel's.

It will. You already have 8GBs and you probably don't use that much. I have 16GBs and have yet to go over 7GBs whenever I look. I could have saved ~$40 if I had bought 8GB instead of 16GB. As mentioned if you put that stick in then you're ram speed will go down, and worse you'll probably never even use the "extra" stick.
