Will this budget build work for Sims 3 and Expansions: AMD FX-6300 and AMD Radeon 7750 2GB or AMD Radeon 7700 1GB

CyberPower has a Halloween sale, and, since the current old cheap computer is making strange loud sounds (probably the fan), I figure it's time for another computer.

Sims 3 and expansions (up to Pets and will not use Stuff packs afaik) will be the only game I play, and the computer will otherwise be used for home office use (browsing, Word, Excel). I'm trying to take advantage of the Halloween sale.

Since I don't know any better :/ I'm starting from the "BACK-TO-SCHOOL 2013" configuration, with the free MS Office, which requires Win 8.1 for the rebate. No idea what CPU to use, so I chose the default AMD FX-6300 3.50 GHz Six-Core AM3+ CPU 6MB. I assume that's overkill for non-gaming use and fine for Sims 3 plus its expansions? :) We're okay with Windows 7 and OpenOffice. Dad's lobbying for a computer with Intel 4th generation i7-4770, but Mom's fine with the old computer, which is AMD Athlon II X3 435.)

For the video card, I'm not sure if I should have the AMD Radeon 7750 2GB GDDR3 16X, or AMD Radeon 7700 1GB GDDR5 16X. Both are on Halloween sale. Higher RAM or better model? If neither of these are any good, I'm up for a GTX 650 or whatever. :/

This build is $598 ($717 before rebates of $119).

EDIT: If it helps, we're currently using a budget Acer AX3400-U2012 with AMD Athlon II X3 435, and NVIDEA GeoForce 9200.

Thanks!
