Need a small gaming computer for my kid and need to keep it in the $800 range. I came up with this but would like opinions before I start placing orders for components. Just want to make sure everything is compatible and I am getting the best bang for my buck. Types of games would be Gmod, Borderlands 2, Black Ops 2, etc. Due to space, it needs to be a Micro ATX system. Will not be over clocking, btw. If you have other opinions on components, please share but keep the prices comparable.

Looks good. I would've tried to opt for a FX-6300 build but there are no decent mATX motherboards for AM3+ socket. So I guess there's not anything I can do there.

way too much cpu get an FX 8150 and a GTX 760 or something like that.

BTW: to any one else reading this, I seem to not be able to post threads for some reason. anyone know why? (I would ask this question in my own thread but i have lost that option sorry for being off-topic :( )

I would prefer to stick with Intel and the price of a GTX 760 is far from comparable to a GTX 650. I could drop the CPU down to a i5-4430 and the GPU up to a GTX 660 but that is about all the flexibility I have, and not sure the difference would be that significant in the end.

Not much of a choice right now because there aren't any good Micro ATX boards for the AMD ones that I wanted to go for. But for a gaming build, priority is on the graphics card. So anything you can do to upgrade that is going to be beneficial.

Better, worse, or no real difference? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1UmxC

Thought process behind it is if I saved a little money by going with an 1155 build, I could put more towards a GPU. Not much more though. Considering this is a budget build to begin with, I am not concerned about buying yesterday's tech if it is cheap and suits the kid's needs. Have no problem upgrading the mobo and cpu in a year but would like the GPU to last a couple years.

Here is a build I put together for you. I upgraded the GPU, found you cheaper RAM, HDD, and PSU, all without sacrificing performance.

CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($184.36 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock B75M-DGS R2.0 Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($58.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($58.99 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card ($249.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WN751ND 802.11b/g/n PCI Wi-Fi Adapter ($13.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($45.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($54.99 @ Amazon)
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 DVD/CD Writer ($15.00 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.00 @ Amazon)
Total: $827.26

If you can squeeze it in there I would upgrade to the Haswell chipset, but I understand you are limited by your budget. I hope this helps!

Btw, the there is a 10% discount on all RAM on Newegg right now. I just chose the cheapest including the discount.
