I am ready to start building my custom rig but I am really having a hard time trying to select the perfect monitor for my needs. The 2 primary things I will be using the monitor for is FPS games (on both PC and console) and Graphic/Video Design work.

I am willing to spend at maximum of $700.

Hopefully a few kind experienced members can take the time to recommend a monitor that I can take a look at.

Please keep in mind I am looking more towards the following:

- Low input lag
- Minimal Ghosting
- Excellent Blacks and True (or close to it) white
- Rich Vibrant colors
- Excellent for FPS games like Battlefield 4, etc.
- Can be used for Graphic & Video Design work
- Great for both PC & next generation Console games
- Minimum of %70 sRGB (Higher is better)
- Accurate colors (or at least accurate when adjusted & calibrated)
- VESA compliant
- Adjustable stand (not important)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

ASUS VG Series VG278H Black 27" 2ms 120Hz Monitor 3D glasses and speakers - $500

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236206

But I'd get two of these instead, well w/ $700 budget .... I'd wait till the next time newegg has a special and get 3

ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 144Hz 1ms HDMI Widescreen 3D Monitor - $266

If the 27" had a bigger resolution, say 24560 x 1600, Id go for the bigger one but I haven't seen any resolutions at 120/144 Hz other than the overclocked Korean jobs.

I'd also add "lightboost" and elimination of motion blur to ya criteria list .... good article here

Thanks for the recommendations and link to the article.

I had originally planned to get a korean monitor but didn't want to deal with depending on a PC to overclock them since that would leave console gaming stuck at 60hz.
