So, I have been browsing for a few days, I am an avid user of this site but never really signed up, Till now. I am in "Dire" need of help, anyway to the point.

I have a Dell XPS 8500, Its about a year old and I feel some components need updating, Including the ram, the Gpu and along with that a new Psu to support said Gpu.

My current specs goes as followed:
Intel Core i5-3350P CPU
4.0 GB ram @ 1600 Mhz [Stock]
Amd Radeon HD 7570
460 Watt Psu [Stock]
Chipset [not sure on this one] Intel h77

I want the upgrades on the Ram [8gigs] and the Gpu, which looks liek a Psu upgrade too. The ram seems okak as long as it is 1600 Mhz, I can just buy a new 8 Gbs. The GPU.... here is where I am struggling. I am looking at the new Amd Radeon R9 280x. It needs a fairly high wattage so, one would assume my current Psu will not suffice... So, this is where I ask for help. Will my Pc support this card ? And is it possible to upgrade my Psu along with that.

Well, I can spend up to as much as my parts will cost [a little bland yes...]
So, the r9 280x is around 280€, the Psu I can go for under 100€ the ram, Under 90€. So altogether about 480€ max.

If you have an i5 CPU, the motherboard will run the new video cards. Only issue is make sure the space around the PCIe slot will take a double wide card and the length clearance is also adequate. Since you want to go up to a pretty high end card, it's almost certain to be pretty large.

Well, I was hoping for an answer "could my Pc handle this card" And you answered that just fine, haha. You are the one who answered the question when you think about it.

Downhere,
I just wanted to ask if everything went good with your new GPU PSU and RAM since I have a xps 8500 also. Did the graphics card fit? Does your.computer stay cool enough with your new components? Thanks in advance!

R9 280x fits, just put a Sapphire R9 280x Vapor in my XPS 8500 (i5 3350P). Need to upgrade your PSU to a 750w unit, and that must be 165mm.. 180mm PSU will not fit without modification.
