I found that there are 2 types of the new 280x from AMD. Theres the 280x V2 and the 280x. The 280x V2 is a lot thicker then the other. Whats the difference?

Base clock is higher (1100 vs 1070 on the 2 slot TOP) on the Matrix (3 slot version), it also has beefed up cooling and OCing options, know the 2 slot card is a great one, picked mine up last Mon

My bad, was thinking the Matrix, the second one, the V2 uses different fans in the cooling design, they are suppose to be quiter and a little more powerful, haven't been hands on with one yet ;)

The higher clock speed and frames per second in gaming benchmarks will certainly justify $50, believe me:

I have the Asus 280x V2, it's a beast and it has a very good looking backplate, if you know how to overclock then the Toxic definitely isn't worth $50 more, my 280x is sitting at 1200Mhz with 1.22v, higher clock speed and lower voltage than the Toxic, also making a LOT less noise. OP, If you know nothing at all about overclocking a GPU and don't want to have to worry about it, get the toxic, otherwise it's as easy as sliding a little circle that can save you $50 and a lot less noise. Other than the V2 being a 3 slot cooler and having a backplate, the v2 and normal are pretty much identical.

So, would I be able to crossfire 2 280x V2 with an lga 1150 extreme3 mobo from ASRock and a fractal design r4? Or would it be too big?

PCPartPicker didn't list any compatibility issues when I put that mobo and cards in, you should be good to go
